The Durdle Door Sunrise and Moonrise
Having had many return trips to the Durdle door down at lulworth in Dorset I have final captured the sort of shot I was after.
My first rip here was in march 2009 and I have been back about 20 times just really to pull of these 2 shots, I have a few other angles and not some not so great images ruined by 1 thing or another which i may post later.
The durdle door is a natural rock arch on the Jurassic coast or Dorset and next to the “man of war” which is a name for a rock formation just around the corner (literally).
The sunrise was spoiled slightly by excessive cloud, but i stuck around and had to just go for it.

Autumn images
Recently I was ask for some photos, which I realsied I hadn’t got or taken yet, so with the afternoon off I decided to take a drive around my local area and see if I could capture autumn somehow.
Heres what I found…..
Elmer Beach Long Exposure
Taken down at Elmer beach yesterday had some time inbetween jobs so i thought i would bust out the camera.
Since getting a big stopper i havent really used it that much which is a crime in itself really.
The big stopper is a bit of black glass that allows you to keep the shutter open on the camera for extreme amounts of time even in daylight without over exposing the photo but allowing all things moving to blur.
Here are 2 examples of what you can do, both images are 2 mintue exposures ( normal exposure time for this type of shot would be 1/30th of a second, so that makes these shots 3600 times longer than they should be.
Lightning Storm hits mainland Greece from Zante
On the last night of my holiday In Zakynthos, I went to the tip of the harbour wall at Tsilivi, to photography the lightning storm that just passed over head. I was about to pack up and go as there hadn’t been any lightning for some time but luckily i managed to catch this beauty!

Zakynthos island shipwreck – Sunset
Today after turtle viewing and cave diving, I got back earlier than expected so decided to take the very long drive to the north of the island, on the east side between Volimes and Anafonitria, some 5 miles of the main road down some treacherous roads with steep cliffs. You end up at the viewing point for the shipwreck, nicely confronted in the car park by some locals selling some very good home-grown produce ( nougat, sesame seed and honey snacks honeyed strawberries among other stuff ). A short walk down to the cliff edge and you are confronted by a 750ft vertical drop with the Wreck only visible if you step onto the viewing deck that quite clearly states maximum 2 persons at any one time ( how reassuring ) so I had to grow a pair and confront my fear. After capturing an image that I was more than happy with the local guy came over and suggested a. Short walk over the cliff edge to non standard view-point with no safety rail, the walk was ok, the view was perfect but I had to get close to the edge this time without a shoulder high safety rail
I did it and I’m glad I did.
Looking north to a sunset at kefalonia
Tonight’s sunset wasn’t planned but I had this location in mind for another photo but on my way past, to another location I couldn’t resist.
Shot from the very sharp bend at Akrotiri, the pier like structure extends way out into the sear pointing north towards Kefalonia (Cephalonia) in the distance some 60+ miles away you can see the towering Ainos mountain range which covers the southern part of the island almost 10km long, shadowing the sunny and sandy resort of skala ( been there too). The mountains highest peak is called Mt Soros @ 1628m.
Amazing Halnaker Windmill Sunset
I know another sunset from Halnaker, I wasnt due to go back up the hill any time soon but a couple of fellow photographers from Hampshire wanted to hook up so i said i would take em up there. You can see there shots here both called Mark! Mark & Mark

Hampshire Sunflower field at Sunset
An unexpected call and an unexpected free evening, looking out the window it looked like a mega sunset was on the cards, but on arrival at this stunning location in rural Hampshire the clouds descended upon this stunning landscape.
I tried several different filter styles for this shot all not producing amazing results so this is a composite image from 2 shots under and over exposed blended in photoshop
