Today after turtle viewing and cave diving, I got back earlier than expected so decided to take the very long drive to the north of the island, on the east side between Volimes and Anafonitria, some 5 miles of the main road down some treacherous roads with steep cliffs. You end up at the viewing point for the shipwreck, nicely confronted in the car park by some locals selling some very good home-grown produce ( nougat, sesame seed and honey snacks honeyed strawberries among other stuff ). A short walk down to the cliff edge and you are confronted by a 750ft vertical drop with the Wreck only visible if you step onto the viewing deck that quite clearly states maximum 2 persons at any one time ( how reassuring ) so I had to grow a pair and confront my fear.
