Damselflies In Love?

Not realising my lens was damaged i went for a walk recently and took some photos of damselflies near the chichester lakes, there were hundreds of them everywhere, these 2 stopped long enough for me to take a picture, due to the lens damage the picture isnt quite as sharp as it should be, but i just love the heart shape they make while mating.

Where are those poppies????

I went out for a walk today hoping to find some poppies up at Halnaker Windmill similar to this picture taken by Frank NaylorOnly alot more dramtic maybe with a sunset or rising moon.

frank naylor, Waynes photos

From the bottom of the carpark to the top of the hill is about 1 mile as well as including the area the size of about 10 football pitches at the top of the hill I could only find a total of 4 poppies!

There was no plan B, however on the way down the hill i came across a Chalk Hill Blue Butteryfly which kindly settled long enough for me to take a few pictures.

Wel as you know my site has been up a while now and after some mathmatics and removing every time i log in today i have had 1000 hits on my website from 25 diferent countries which is above average according to Google… not bad for a 3 month old site.

Thank you to all that have visited and had a look and please come back also feel free to leave your comments under each post you can remain annonymous if you wish just make up an email address.

Heres some interesting facts for you … or maybe not….
when searching Google World Wide for “waynes photos” Ranked 2nd of about 42 million results
when searching Google uk for “waynes photos” Ranked 1st from 400,000 results

The Bussiest single day was 2nd july with 55 hits
The single most popular post overall has been The London Architecture Poll with 46 visits but only 15 votes :(
The average page view is 2.71 pages per visit, spending 3 minutes 17 seconds viewing those pages.
In reality there are a high number of single page visits staying for 10 seconds or less, but here have been a number of visitors how have stayed and given the site a thourough read through thanks you to mondays visitor who stayed for 29 minutes reading 12 pages from the Uk. :)

55% of people visiting the site return for another look… :)
33% of visitors arrived from google or other search engines.

1 person did a search for Jonathan Fridlington (my best mate and fellow photographer) skipped 9 results for him and clicked on my site, the odd thing is i that they never actaully clicked on his site at all that day… how bizzare?
Overall there were visits from 25 countries around the globe in order of most hits first here are the stats

  • United Kingdom
  • United States
  • Italy
  • Romania
  • Ireland
  • Canada
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • Denmark
  • South Africa
  • Belgium
  • Poland
  • Slovenia
  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Germany
  • Spain
  • France
  • Morocco
  • India
  • China
  • Argentina
  • Iran
  • Georgia
  • The 25th Country or region is … Unknown (ip region not set) so it could have come from anywhere

There are hundreds more stats i could bore you with but i wont, but i will tell you that i can even tell the screen resoloution of the pcs or handheld devices the website is viewed on and i will be using this in future to maximise the size of the photos i put up, in short if you cant see the whole picture your in the minority and its time to buy a bigger screen!
Here is an image with a descriptionclick on it, if you cant see it all (inc description) then your screen is set below average resoloution (if you need help call me) shame about the lens flare in this picture

Sunset at East head, waynes photos

if your thinking of upgrading a screen or anything pc Novatech for the best prices and most excellent customer service and after sales i have recived in a long time.

hope i havent sent you to sleep, come back soon as i have some more images to post this week.

,waynes photos Well its a very commonly asked question, there are many reasons why people steal images, there are even more ways to steal them, most commonly “right click save as”.

The long and the short of it is you can’t stop people as they will always find a way, most of the time its to use as desktop images but some people print them off or repost them and call them thier own work, or even reuse on their own web site without your permission.
In one respect it could be seen as flattering that someone thinks your images or photos are nice enough to keep or use but, on the other foot as a photographer or artist you personally invested time in producing the image and why should someone take that for free or worse still without asking (just plain rude!).

My blog uses an anti right click script ( GO ON TRY RIGHT CLICK) but even this can be got round if you really know your stuff, so I will be watermarking my photos in the future, I find this annoying to the viewer so I will try and keep it obvious but not destructive to look at.

Alternatively you can use a reverse picture serach engine which i have found TinEye and works well or if you want to know what people are copying from your website you can use Tynts Tracer Service .

Let it be known not only Big Brother is watching you.

Not everything in life is free but ask and you might be pleasantly surprised !

    Hope you found this useful.

    Web Site Construction & Gerbera’s

Well i have finally finished my first actual website, designed properly in photoshop and then sliced up, along with the correct html and css used, no drag and drop pre-made dreamweaver, no templates. Over all im quite happy with the finished result, its not how i would have wanted it to look but the site owner was in a rush and couldnt afford not to have it ready for Saturday 18th July, where she will be at a wellbeing fayre encouraging people to naturally lose weight without the need for a crash diet and without depriving themselves of nice food. I wish Joanna and Juliet tall the best with thier new venture, NurtureU.co.uk

During construction of the website i needed a picture of a flower (a gerbera) and was over come with choices of ones to purchase from many of the stock photo galleries however none were just what i was looking for, so i made a trip out to the florist.
Blooms in Chichester was my first stop very helpful lady but alas they only had pink ones unless i wanted to buy potted variety or order in a whole box for the next day.

Next stop was Bognor Road nursery ‘Wyevale garden centre’ after lots of looking around finding nothing in the randomly laid out area of plants they have i asked someone for help who didnt know what a gerbera was.

Finally in a desperate attempt to find something i tried the Nursery at Lagness oposite the Frampton’s pick your own shop, once again i found myself daunted by he rows upon rows of displays but this time i was approached by a lady who clearly knew i didnt know what i was looking for after a short conversationshe showed me the cut flower section they have and there was a choice of 5 different shades of orange any how here is one of the shots i took when i got it home…
