Goodwood Revival 2011
This is just the first of many photos that will be here on display over the coming days….
Goodwood revial is all about the atmosphere and the era of all things pre 1966 and motor racing, with people dressing up in period costumes vintage shops, its a fun weekend for the whole family
Goodwood Revival Preview – b17 bomber lands at Goodwood
With the goodwood revival opening tomorrow, preparations are almost complete, some of the aircraft on static display have been arriving all week, today was the arrival of the B-17 bomber the 2nd largest plane ever to land at goodwood airfield ever. The B-17 will be on display at the freddie march spirit of aviation static display where you can walk upto and even touch these fabulous flying machines.
Heres a quick snap of the flying fortress – B-17 on its final approach to land at Goodwood revival today.
Tribute to Red arrows Star Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging RED 4
It is with great sadness that I do todays post, due the the loss of one of the red arrows, team member Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging who died saturday 20th August 2011, deepest sympathy to his wife ,family, friends and colleagues.
This photo was taken at the goodwood festival of speed 2011 just after a formation split, I followed a sequence of photos where red 4 flies on the outside and then he flew over my head.
Todays image comes without the usual watermarkings found on my photos, happy for this picture to be re posted or published anywhere as long as the embedded text stays.
The red arrows always have done and always will hold special memories for me.

After nearly 2 weeks of sorting though over 5000 images taken at the goodwood festival of speed 2011 weekend. I have now finished editing the gallery which you can find a link to below, be warned there are alot of pictures of cars!

the Fesival od speed is an amazing weekend of action packed fun for all the family with loads of things to see both old and new, cars, trucks,bikes, if its got an engine you may well find it at the festival some time.
And to top it off fabulous displays from aircraft including the red arrows and the avro vulcan.

Jaguar Festival of Speed 2011 center Piece
As what now appears to be a “usual” scenario here is the first image of the center piece at the festival of speed 2011 right on the lawn in front of Goodwood House, this year celebrating 50 years of the Jaguar E-Type.

Red arrows today
Update to earlier post about air display times for goodwood festival of speed.
The local car parks will be closed between 12:45 and 13:30 Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the air displays.
No red arrows on Sunday now shame 
according to local info. Sunday Vulcan only.

Goodwood Festival of speed 2011 air display times
Spectacular Air Displays at FoS! The Red Arrows are scheduled to display for three days (Thursday at 13:00, Friday at 13:00, and Saturday at 11:30) over the Festival and the Goodwood festival of speed is the only UK event to attract The Red Arrows for three consecutive days this summer. The phenomenal Vulcan bomber will be displaying on Festival Sunday at 13:00, a sight not to be missed!
for those not attending the actual show here are some links to great local vantage points for watching the air displays
Top of the trundle
miles away from the action but you will see a lot of the planes as they loop back around
also a known location for the vulcan if it arrives early it goes into a holding flight circle
A27 west fly over( busy and not ideal)
madgwick corner (goodwood race circuit)
good views from here either in the field adjacent or further down the road
Homebase chichester
you will see people lining the road here most days
although this is part of the display for red arrows flight path its not the best view of them displaying
Rolls Royce factory / westhampnett ( my prefered location)
park at location at the center of the bottom of this map and walk along public foot path down side of rolls royce factory towards the green triangle shape on map

Goodwood Breakfast Club – June 2011
Definitely My 2 most favourite cars, and the Lancia wins by a nose.
2 images taken at the Goodwood Breakfast Club Meeting June 2011 the theme was GT up to 1970 but later years were allowed on display, a good turn out plenty of nice cars to look at and get close to, oh and free entry too! Thanks Lord March.
