The Durdle Door Sunrise and Moonrise
Having had many return trips to the Durdle door down at lulworth in Dorset I have final captured the sort of shot I was after.
My first rip here was in march 2009 and I have been back about 20 times just really to pull of these 2 shots, I have a few other angles and not some not so great images ruined by 1 thing or another which i may post later.
The durdle door is a natural rock arch on the Jurassic coast or Dorset and next to the “man of war” which is a name for a rock formation just around the corner (literally).
The sunrise was spoiled slightly by excessive cloud, but i stuck around and had to just go for it.

when searching Google uk for “waynes photos” Ranked 1st from 400,000 results
The busiest single day was 2nd July with 55 hits
The single most popular post overall has been The London Architecture Poll with 46 visits but only 15 votes ![]()
The average page view is 2.71 pages per visit, spending 3 minutes 17 seconds viewing those pages.
In reality there are a high number of single page visits staying for 10 seconds or less, but here have been a number of visitors how have stayed and given the site a thorough read through thanks you to Mondays visitor who stayed for 29 minutes reading 12 pages from the Uk.
55% of people visiting the site return for another look… ![]()
33% of visitors arrived from google or other search engines.
Overall there were visits from 25 countries around the globe in order of most hits first here are the stats
The 25th Country or region is … Unknown (ip region not set) so it could have come from anywhere
There are hundreds more stats i could bore you with but i wont, but i will tell you that i can even tell the screen resolution of the pics or handheld devices the website is viewed on and i will be using this in future to maximise the size of the photos i put up.
shame about the lens flare in this picture
hope i havent sent you to sleep, come back soon as i have some more images to post this week.

Goodwood House star Trails
Upon clicking on google tonight I found that today is one of the best days of the year to see the Perseid Meteor Shower. I walked down to the park and saw quite a few and thought it would be nice to catch some of this in a picture some how.
I grabbed my gear and went up to Goodwood house where I set up a shot and looked for more meteors alas they seemed to have stopped or not in the direction my camera was pointing.
However I did get quite a nice shot of the house with “The plough” star constellation above. The Plough or Big Dipper is actually part of a larger constellation called ursa major (the great bear) and 2 stars on this constellation point to ursa minor (little bear) which itself includes Polaris (the pole star) used for navigation at night as it points or marks north.

Halnaker Windmill Moon Lit
I am So Excited about this post as I have been working towards this photograph for over a year now Some of you may have seen the images I have taken during the last year while trying to achieve this photograph though none came close to this. I’m happy with my image and think we may finally be able to say we are finished at this location. As mentioned on my last post the weather changed for the better and im very glad we decided to go back up.
Feel free to leave comments below.
Enjoy
